MAUI EVENTS

May 1-3, 2015 – OluKai’s 7th Annual Ho’olaule’a Festival

OluKai isn’t simply known for their high quality and stylish slippers (pronounced “Slippahs” – or better known to visitors as flip flops, or thong sandals!). Each year they host their annual festival to celebrate Hawaiian culture and its tradition-rich community! Olukai strives to help share the Hawaiian meaning and culture surrounding the Aloha spirit. This event hosts the “world’s best” SUP (stand up paddleboard!) races, canoe sailing, surfing, traditional luau, and so much more! It is a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the Hawaiian spirit, and is great for adults and families alike.

May 1, 2015 – Brothers Cazimero Lei Day Concert

Established as a holiday in 1929, Lei Day continues to be an annual day of celebration in Hawaii. It is an event that recognized Hawaiian Culture and the Aloha Spirit. Also an annual tradition on this day is the concert held by renowned musicians, the Brothers Cazimero. Attend this event held at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center, and experience contemporary Hawaiian music, traditional hula, a local arts display, and a large selection of beautiful and heavenly scented flower leis to make your Lei Day a truly memorable one!

May 8, 2015 – Chaka Kahn at the MACC

 

Dubbed the “Queen of Funk”, Chaka Khan will be performing live at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Ready for a night of Grammy winning jazz, funk, soul, and disco? Head over for a fun night out!

May 9-10 – Maui Choral Arts Presents “A Night at the Opera”

A one of a kind event, this fun concert will play host to Gary Shin-Leavitt and his Opera chorus! Held at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center, this event will be quite the spectacle, with singing and a dab of humor and surprises!

May 16, 2015 – Annual Maui Brewers Festival

Bring your appetite for food and fun, this annual event is a “must do”! Featuring the best craft brews of Hawaii and the mainland, and culinary delights from 25 of the Maui’s favorite restaurants, you can’t go wrong at this incredibly popular festival!
