The Mauna Lani Terrace unit D103 is a spacious, family-friendly Hawaii vacation rental accommodating up to four guests. This Big Island condo has two bedrooms with en-suite full baths and an additional half bath off the entryway. A spacious kitchen and living room offer guests comfort and convenience, and the well-appointed indoor spaces are complemented by a front porch and a large lanai in the back. There is a washer and dryer inside the unit, and weekly maid service is provided.

The 1,481-square-foot open-plan living area has been renovated recently with all new flooring and fresh, tasteful decor inspired by the paradise that surrounds it. The space is airy and welcoming, with natural wood details, large windows, and comfortable seating areas. A dining table in the main living area seats four and there is bar seating for two at the raised kitchen counter.

Inside, guests will find wireless internet access and an entertainment center equipped with a flat-screen television, DVD, VCR, and CD players. A large sliding-glass door opens onto the covered lanai and brings in views of the beautiful lagoon and the ocean shimmering beyond.

In the master bedroom, accessed from the living room, guests are welcomed by a king-size bed and a flat-screen television. The master bath features two vanities, a walk-in shower, and a separate soaking tub. A private area of the lanai can be accessed from the large sliding-glass door. This sheltered nook is furnished with a chair and footstool, ideal for reading or enjoying the vibrant blue-green lagoon below.
Accessed from the other side of the living room, the second bedroom is furnished with two twin-size beds that can be converted to a king on request. Guests will enjoy a private bathroom and their own flat-screen television. A large sliding-glass door offers a view of the lagoon and direct access to the lanai.

This Big Island vacation rental is designed to flow seamlessly from outdoor to indoor spaces so guests can get the most out of the breathtaking coastal views that surround them. Large glass doors provide ample views of palm trees, calm ponds, and the glittering rocky shoreline beyond the lagoon. The doors open wide, allowing gentle breezes to waft through the home and making the lanai off the back of the unit a fully integrated part of the living space the lanai faces over the lagoon, offering space for relaxation, dining, or simply taking in the scenery.

The west-facing lanai is furnished with a dining table that seats six and a wet bar, creating the perfect area to share a meal and have a cool drink while enjoying the tropical sunset. Guests can access the lanai from either bedroom or the living room.

While enjoying the hospitality of this Hawaii vacation rental, guests will also have access to the community swimming pool, community hot tub, and community barbecue area. A nominal fee grants access to the gym and fitness center.

My wife and I and our two teenage kids just had a wonderful stay in this condo. Views over the fish ponds to the nearby (100 yds) ocean are simply stunning. We really valued the closeness to the beach, the rocky seashore with so many sea turtles and great snorkeling and also to the shops/dining. This is now my favorite location in all the Hawaiian islands. So quiet and unspoiled.

Our stay in Mauna Lani was the complete package. The unit comfortably suits four guests with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, 2 1/2 baths and a beautiful, very large porch overlooking the pond on the property (you can see the ocean from the unit). The best part is that you have access to three beaches, all within walking distance. The Beach Club was our favorite because it was very scenic, peaceful and a great place for beginner snorkeling and paddle boarding (renting available on the beach). Did I mention that Obama has been there? I'll save you the research: This condo is located on the sunniest part of the big island, which did not disappoint. The island has many types of weather and we experienced it first hand during our travels around the island. There are also many shops nearby in the complex, including the free Thursday night Polynesian dance show, which was just as good, if not better, than ones you would pay high $$$ for. The management company, South Kohala, is very accommodating and response quite quick. Their communication was excellent leading up to our arrival and out check-out was seamless. Overall, I can say without a doubt that renting this condo is absolutely worth every penny, making our first trip to Hawaii truly magical.
