Fairways South is located on the grounds of the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and Resort. This property is on the northern section of the Kohala Coast on the west side of Hawaii's big island.

Fairways South is comprised of a main three-bedroom home and a separate one-bedroom cottage. Together, they equal 5,000 square feet of living space. All spaces are located on the same level, making it welcoming to guests with mobility issues.

The main house of the Big Island villa has two master bedroom suites with en-suite bathrooms and a bunk-bed room outfitted with queen-size beds that is perfect for all guests. The separate one-bedroom suite is accessible via the tropical garden. All bedrooms offer air conditioning to ensure comfortable nights.

In the main house, the first suite has a king-sized bed and furnishings made with natural teak and bamboo. Furniture includes a pair of nightstands, an eight-drawer dresser, and two settees. The bedroom also has an en-suite bathroom, and the room opens up thanks to a vaulted ceiling paneled in light wood. A ceiling fan helps to circulate fresh Hawaiian breezes. The en-suite bathroom offers guests a separate tub and a walk-in shower. Towels and other bathroom amenities are included in this Big Island vacation rental.

The second bedroom provides two queen beds, a vaulted ceiling, and hardwood floors. A wide bookcase lines one of the walls, while the other is comprised of picture windows that look out towards the ocean. The queen suite of this Big Island villa also has an en-suite bathroom.

The bunk room of this Big Island rental is outfitted with queen-size bottom bunks, while the tops are doubles. Underbed storage is available along with an open alcove. Guest staying in the bunk room have their own en-suite bathroom.

The separate bedroom in the cottage offers a king-size bed. This space contains bamboo-styled furnishings and is air-conditioned. This area features an en-suite bathroom with a sink, bathtub, and walk-in shower.

All of the common areas of this Fairways South villa are designed to open up to the gorgeous environment. In fact, a covered dining area is situated on the home's lanai, allowing for true indoor-outdoor Hawaiian living. The furnishings reinforce the tropical theme with light woods and bamboo.

Sliding doors allow guests to open the main living space to the lanai. All of these spaces overlook the home's green yard, the ocean, and the Mauna Kea Resort's golf course.

The fully equipped kitchen is has a breakfast bar, and the appliances include a full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, and four-element gas cooktop. Utensils and dishes are included in this luxury vacation rental.

Fairway South also has a pool and hot tub that is directly accessible from the deck. Reclining chaise lounges are available on the lawn. As the sun goes down, residents can light the property's tiki torches.

As residents of Fairways South, visitors have access, with signing privileges, at the Mauna Kea Beach and Hapuna Beach Prince Hotels. This includes the two golf courses, spa, beach, tennis courts, and a large swimming pool. Outside of the resort, visitors are a short drive away from the shops and restaurants of nearby Puako and Mauna Lani Historic Park. There, visitors can hike around a preserved lava field and see ancient fish ponds fed by the Pacific Ocean.

Please note, the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and Resort is undergoing a phased renovation through mid-2025. As a result, guests may notice changes in availability of certain amenities and activities during that time.

• Fitness Centers: Mauna Kea's center remains open until the new one is ready; The Hapuna Fitness Center is available.
• Golf Courses: The Westin Hapuna Golf Course operates as usual; Mauna Kea Course closed from April 15 to November 15, 2024.
• Tennis: No changes to tennis.
• Spa Services: The Hapana Spa by Mandara operates as usual, while Mauna Kea Spa closes on April 15, 2024.
