Alta Rocca

Among the many charms of the newly built Villa Alta Rocca (OCA) is its enviable location. As the name suggests, it’s a high fortress, situated up the hill from Nikki Beach in St. Jean. This means that when you choose this luxury rental property, it’s an easy walk down to the beach, or to the boutiques, restaurants, and social life of St. Jean.

The design of Villa Alta Rocca is simultaneously warm, cozy and comfortable, and also contemporary and full of character. It practically drips with modern St. Barth charm, especially in the convivial wooden kitchen, which takes full advantage of the beautiful view.

This is clearly a villa built for socializing, whether you prefer to do the cooking yourself or to let the concierge arrange for a private chef. Along with the outdoor dining area, the kitchen has a breakfast corner and a cozy sitting area.

The main sitting area is outdoors, on a covered terrace that is well protected from the elements. It is open to both sides, with views of mature trees and the green hills in the background to one side, and of the turquoise sea to the other side. The neutral color palette and generous use of natural materials adds to the effect.

Each of the three bedrooms has its own name, reflective of its special character. The one called Caraîbe is off to the right side of the outdoor living area. Afrique is off to the left side, near the swimming pool. The third bedroom, called Imprévue, is in the back in its own private bungalow. Each bedroom has a king-size bed (or twins that can be converted into a king), air-conditioning, HDTV with multiple programming options, private access, and an ensuite bathroom with a rain shower.

On the lower level of the villa, there is a fitness area with a treadmill, stationary bike, and free weights, as well as WiFi and an HDTV with multiple options, allowing it to double as an entertainment room. There is also an outdoor shower on this level.
