About This Property

Lanikai Ola Nani is a single-level, four-bedroom retreat spanning over 2,000 square feet, tucked on a peaceful side street just 200 steps from the sands of Lanikai. Lanikai sits at the quiet southeast end of the Kailua shoreline, the Ko'olau mountains rising behind the homes and the Mokulua islands floating offshore. Designer-renovated in 2022 and wrapped in gardens that glow softly after dark, this is a house built for slow mornings and long, unhurried stays. And when work does follow you to the islands, The Hideaway, a fully equipped executive office with its own entrance and bath, means it never has to interrupt the vacation.

What You'll Love About Lanikai Ola Nani
• Sleeps 8 across four serene bedrooms, each with split AC, Haiku ceiling fans, 50" Frame TVs, blackout shades, and luxurious bedding.
• 200 steps to Lanikai Beach and a short walk to the Pillbox trailhead, with beach gear waiting by the door.
• The Hideaway, a fully equipped executive office with private entrance, own bath, fiber internet, stand-up desk, 4K monitor, and Bowers & Wilkins sound.
• Solar with two battery units keeps the AC, lights, and fiber steady, whatever the neighborhood grid is doing.
• One level throughout, with a custom garden daybed for afternoon naps and an outdoor shower where the sand stops.

Living & Dining
Inside, wide-plank white oak floors run beneath vaulted ceilings, and custom Restoration Hardware sofas gather around a stacked-stone wall and windows full of green. A second living space, the Garden Lounge & Media Room, is wrapped in custom retractable glass doors that slide wide to the back lanai, so the room, the deck, and the lawn read as one. From here the view runs to the mountains where the first hikers climb the Pillbox at dawn, or the stars come out after dinner. Set between the kitchen and living room, the dining table seats ten, so the whole house can sit down to dinner together.

The Kitchen
The kitchen runs long and open, bright and so well equipped that cooking becomes part of the vacation. The sink looks out into greenery, and light travels the full length of the room toward the dining table and the entry gardens beyond. The small things matter, and these cupboards hold all the extras like a rice cooker, a food processor, and a juicer!

The Garden and Lanai
The lanai picks up where the living spaces leave off, with a generous outdoor table for long dinners and Design Within Reach lounge furniture for lingering well past them. The outdoor grill turns most evenings into a barbecue worth staying home for. The gardens are mature and private, planted with banana palms, mango and coconut trees, lilikoi vines, and a small herb garden. A custom daybed tucked beneath the banana leaves is the spot every guest claims for the most rejuvenating nap of their stay, and the outdoor shower takes care of whatever comes back from the beach. At night the gardens are gently lit, framing the house in tropical green.

The Hideaway (Bedroom 4)
At the far end of the house sits the room we call The Hideaway, a space that quietly does the work of three. As an executive office it lacks nothing: high-speed fiber internet, a large stand-up desk with a 4K monitor, Bowers & Wilkins speakers, a microphone, a printer and scanner, and a second desk for a partner or a project. As a fourth bedroom it offers two twin daybeds that can be made up as full beds on request. And with a library wall and a soft neon glow, it becomes the room the kids claim, the nanny settles into, or anyone looking for a quiet afternoon with a book. Its private door to the yard suits remote workers keeping mainland hours, since an early call never has to cross the rest of the house.

Sleeping Quarters
• Primary suite: king, marble ensuite with double vanity, 6-foot freestanding soaking tub, separate rain shower with handheld, private water closet, and a large walk-in closet, with its own door to a lava-paved garden patio.
• Guest bedroom 2: queen, ensuite with custom Moroccan-tiled shower, large walk-in closet, rear garden view.
• Guest bedroom 3: king that converts to 2 twin XL beds on request, front garden view, full-wall closet, steps from the hall bath with tub and shower.
• Guest bedroom 4 (The Hideaway): 2 twin daybeds that can be set up as beds on request, executive workspace, its own separate private entrance option, and ensuite bath with large shower and bench.
•No thermostat negotiations here: every bedroom has its own remote-controlled split AC, a ceiling fan, and blackout drapes.

Extras
Fiber internet runs fast throughout, built for video calls as much as movie nights. The laundry room is a real one, full-size and light-filled, with its own entrance off the driveway, which starts to matter around week two. Baths come stocked with Malie Organics and plush bamboo towels, and the beach gear waits by the door. The house runs on solar with two battery units, so the AC, lights, and wifi stay steady even when the neighborhood grid does not.

Nearby
Lanikai Beach is 200 steps away: pristine white sands facing the Mokulua islands. This beach is made for swimming or paddling, with a sunrise worth setting the alarm for at least once. A short stroll south reaches a quieter access point with a wide stretch of sand and palms for shade. The Pillbox trail starts nearby and climbs the ridge for the view back down. Kailua town is a short drive, with cafes, shops, and restaurants, plus Kailua Beach Park where the sand widens out. Honolulu and HNL are on the far side of the Ko'olau.
