Resort Reservations & Access Policies
- During Shoulder and Peak Seasons, the booking-window and chaise lounge policies will not apply.
- During Peak of Peak Season, rental guests may submit on-property reservation requests through Club Concierge beginning 60 days before their resort access start date.
- During Festive Season, a dedicated Festive Concierge Desk is scheduled to open in mid-November to facilitate on-property reservations.
- During Peak of Peak and Festive Seasons, chaise lounges for residential and rental guests will be available on lawns and beaches as directed by Pool Operations.
Rental guests have a one-time opportunity to opt into resort access during their stay. The entire household must participate for a minimum of two consecutive days, without a break in access.
Beyond The Resort
- Kulanakauhale Estate's location places guests within easy reach of some of the Big Island's most celebrated beaches, coastal communities, and natural attractions.
- Kona International Airport (KOA) is approximately 10 minutes away, making arrivals and departures convenient. The shops, open-air dining, farmers markets, and boutiques of Kailua-Kona are about 20 minutes away, while Waikoloa Village and its additional resort amenities are also approximately a 20-minute drive.
- Kua Bay, known for its clear turquoise water and beautiful white-sand shoreline, is about 10 minutes away. Hapuna Beach, one of the island's most beloved stretches of sand, is approximately 25 minutes from the estate.
- For a change of scenery, venture inland toward the Mauna Kea Visitor Center, approximately 70 minutes away, or plan a full-day excursion to Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, roughly two hours by car. The scenic Kona Coffee belt above the coast also offers opportunities to discover local coffee farms and experience another side of island life.
Important Resort Notices
Guests planning a stay should be aware of several scheduled resort events and facility updates that may affect access and transportation.
- Chairman's Club Event: Scheduled for November 30–December 5, 2026, at Four Seasons Resort Hualālai. Resort and amenity access may be limited, with arrangements managed at the resort's discretion.
- Mitsubishi Golf Tournament: Scheduled for January 16–24, 2027, at Four Seasons Resort Hualālai. Access to resort facilities may be limited during the event.
- Beach Tree Pool Closure: The Beach Tree Pool is scheduled to close temporarily from September 8 through November 15 for repairs and enhancements. Beach Tree Restaurant is expected to remain open for lunch and dinner, with beachfront food and beverage service continuing during the project. Guests with a purchased resort amenities package may use the resort's other swimming facilities, subject to availability and resort policies. The shoreline may also be enjoyed with a personal beach chair.
The October 9, 2027, IRONMAN race may cause extensive road closures and traffic diversions throughout the Kona and Kohala areas. Guests traveling around the island on race day should allow additional time and check current traffic advisories.
