Craving a tropical vacation? Well, you’re in luck! St. Barts and St. Martin have officially re-opened their borders to fully vaccinated travelers on June 9th, 2021. With tourism activities operating with no restrictions, travelers will be able to dine, shop, and explore the island to its fullest.

“We are happy to announce that the French Government has authorized St. Barts to reopen its borders towards fully vaccinated travelers, after two successful vaccination campaigns, the vast majority of our island’s citizens are now vaccinated.”

- Nils Dufau, President of the St. Barts Tourism Committee

To be able to enjoy the island, travelers must complete a few line-item Covid precautions. Travelers above the age of 18 must provide proof that they are fully vaccinated. That same proof must be sent to the hotel or villa rental agency where they will be staying when the reservation is made. Travelers 10 years and older have to have a negative Covid PCR test no more than three days before arrival. Travelers can also opt to take a rapid Covid antigen test no more than two days before arrival. Visitors under 18 do not need to be vaccinated but will be tested, and those under 10 will not be subject to Covid testing.

All details and up-to-date information can be found on the St. Barts tourism website

If you are traveling through St. Martin or if it is your final destination, the restrictions are slightly different. Every traveler must fill out an authorization application through the Electronic Health Authorization System (EHAS). Without this, visitors will be denied entry by immigration authorities. Travelers are encouraged to submit antigen test results as soon as they receive them.

As of July 1st, 2021, travelers from the US and Canada can enter the island if they can provide a negative rt-PCR Covid test within 72 hours before departure. Travelers may also opt to provide a negative antigen test result within 48 hours before departure.

All details, restrictions, and requirements can be found on the St. Martin tourism website.

Both St. Barts and St. Martin are excited to welcome back travelers from the US and worldwide with the proper precautions put in place. Travelers can get excited and ready to soak up the blue waters and white sandy beaches that these islands have to offer.
